Nowadays, in the cruise industry, more and more mega-ships are operating worldwide and Myanmar is getting popular destinations in the World Cruise Map.
Since Yangon port is a riverine port, there are tide restrictions and restricted port limitations under Myanmar Port Authority (MPA). So, there is a two-port zone in Yangon as an Outer Port for Semi Mega Cruise under LOA 280 meters cruise and Inner Port (City Harbor) for a small cruise under 167 m LOA vessel as per existing rule.
Myanmar Voyages had successfully operated the largest cruise (MV Superstar Virgo) in 2003 after attempting to change old regulation of MPA and made a Myanmar Port history by MV Astor maiden voyage in 1999.
Besides, Mergui Archipelago (over 800 including virgin islands) is an eye for adventure, expedition cruises and mega cruises as a new port destination in South East Asia. Myanmar Voyages had organized expedition cruises and introduced the residential cruise ship to Mergui archipelago and Ngapali Beach as a potential cruise destination. Moreover, some expedition cruises are looking for virgin ports in order to explore the real-life of local communities.
Myanmar Voyages successfully operated to Sittwe, Pathein, Ngwe Saung Beach Port and these ports will become potential ports for natural lovers for sure.
