Experience the best of Bagan’s local culture and architecture with a day tour that’s all about the memorable moments. The tour includes a range of activities such as a brief introduction to Buddhism, a visit to classic glittering temples, a delightful boat ride, a vibrant local market, a slow-paced village life experience, traditional home-cooked meals and much more.
Starting from an elevated viewpoint, enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding plains as an introduction to the grandeur of Bagan’s architecture. Explore the colorful local market of Nyaung U where the locals gather to buy locally grown food and have breakfast. Take a short break in a traditional tea house to get a taste of the local tea experience, which is an integral part of daily life in Myanmar.
Visit the Ananda Temple, a masterpiece of the Mon architectural style that features four standing Buddhas. Next, head to Myinkaba Village and Gubyaukgyi Temple, which is famous for its beautiful mural paintings on its inner walls and well-preserved plaster carvings on its exterior.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy a unique experience of riding a horse carriage. You’ll pass by the reddish brick Dhamayangyi Temple, which is solid and pyramid-shaped. After that, the tour’s last activity is a visit to the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda. This pagoda was built in the 11th century by King Anawrahta and provides an introduction to Bagan’s rich history.
After a day of exploring Bagan’s culture and architecture, the tour ends with a relaxing drive back to the hotel.
