Your guide will pick you up at Nyaung Shwe Jetty at 8:00 AM to begin the tour. You’ll take an interesting drive to Pindaya (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes) across the Shan Plateau, passing through fields of mountain rice.

Next, explore the magnificent Pindaya Cave, a natural limestone cave that houses a vast collection of Buddha images of varying sizes. Buddha statues are crammed into every confined space in the cave, reaching the ceiling. Take a leisurely stroll along Shwe U Min Pagoda Road, passing through towering trees with intertwined branches and trunks to reach the caves.

During the return trip, visit family-owned factories where local families produce Shan paper and parasols. During the tour, you’ll witness the various stages involved in creating the traditional Shan paper umbrellas. This includes observing the process of making rice paper, carving the umbrella’s bamboo base, and the hand-painting of the umbrella.
