Travel Itinerary
Experience an entire day of adventure with a boat trip across Inle Lake. Begin your program with a 30-minute canoe ride on the lake, accompanied by the “Inle Canoe Lady.” This activity includes a visit to Pauk Pa Village by canoe, where you will observe life on the lake and pass through the floating garden where the Intha community cultivates tomatoes for their living.
In the afternoon, visit the Paung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most sacred religious site in Southern Shan state. This primary place of worship around the lake holds five sacred Buddha images. Discover the rich history of these golden statues and the reasons behind their great significance. Afterward, take a brief stroll to the nearby boathouse to witness the royal barge, which carries the Buddha images throughout the lake during the Paung Daw Oo pagoda festival.
Next, proceed to the Inpawkhone village to visit a traditional silk-weaving workshop that uses wooden handlooms and a blacksmith’s forge. Observe this traditional craft up-close and witness the time-consuming process of producing threads from the fibrous stems of the lotus flowers.
Lastly, move to Nampan Village, situated in the southern part of the lake, to experience a fine example of the traditional floating village and learn about the production process of traditional hand-rolled cheroots, as well as the daily lifestyle of the village people.
You’ll return to your hotel in the evening, having enjoyed an unforgettable day exploring the beauty and traditions of Inle Lake.
