Discover the essence of Yangon through a guided walking tour that takes you on a journey of the city’s culture, sights, and people. Your day begins with breakfast and a meet-up with your guide at the hotel. From there, you’ll head to the Secretariat Office, a historic building constructed in the 1800s with striking red and yellow bricks that overflow with rich history.
The tour commences in the Mahabandoola Park, home to the Independence Monument, situated near the iconic Sule Pagoda, an architectural masterpiece that dates back over 2,000 years.
Next, explore the renovated City Hall, the Immanuel Baptist Church, and the High Court Building, all steeped in history and significance. The streets of Yangon are alive with activity, featuring bustling markets, food stalls, and the famous second-hand book market.
As the tour continues, you’ll journey towards the Strand Road by the river to encounter the magnificent Strand Hotel, Myanmar Port Authority, Inland Water Transport Office, and Custom House. Discover the gold shops of Shwe Bontha Street and the hidden treasures and curiosities that can be found in the narrow streets of Yangon’s downtown, such as picked snakes that are used for medicinal purposes.
