Prior to booking any tour, participants are advised to assess their level of physical fitness to ensure that they can handle the demands of the activity. It is important to acknowledge and understand the suitability of the tour. If you have concerns about your fitness level, it is recommended that you contact the guide for a discussion. Participants are also required to inform the guide of any pre-existing medical conditions or illnesses that could pose a safety risk or be aggravated during the tour prior to the start of the tour.
To fully enjoy the trekking experience in the remote Chin State mountains, travelers will need specific equipment to ensure their safety and comfort. Essential items include a 20L backpack to carry personal belongings, waterproof hiking shoes to protect feet from getting wet, and a windbreaker to stay warm and dry during windy and rainy conditions.
Additionally, trekking shorts and pants and a trekking t-shirt or shirt are recommended to allow ease of movement and ventilation. Gloves and trekking socks are also essential to protect hands and feet from scratches and blisters. Sun glasses and a hat can shield the eyes and face from the harsh sun, while sun cream will protect the skin from sunburn.
Moreover, hiking poles are recommended to provide stability and support, especially during steep and uneven terrain. Finally, a headlamp will help trekkers navigate the trails during the night or in low-light conditions.
Day 01: Yangon – Keng Tung
On the first day, transfer from Yangon airport to Keng Tung, which takes around 1 hour 30 mins. Check-in at the hotel and start the tour by visiting Keng Tung’s most iconic places, such as Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, which houses a Mandalay-style Buddha statue, and a Shan lacquer workshop where high-quality products can be purchased. Then, visit the standing Buddha statue, which marks the founding place of Keng Tung a thousand years ago, before moving on to the picturesque Naung Tong Lake, known for its colonial architecture and local restaurants. Day 02: Keng Tung – Loi Mwe – Keng Tung (B)
After breakfast, embark on a road trip from Keng Tung to Loi Mwe, which takes around 1 hour 30 mins. Loi Mwe is situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings. During the ascent to Loi Mwe, stop at several villages to explore their unique lifestyles. Visit villages such as Wan Lun Shan, Ho Lap Akha (known for their colorful traditional dresses), Nang Cho Wa, and Pan Wai Lahu. Return to Keng Tung in the evening for overnight stay.Breakfast included
Day 03: Keng Tung – Pin Tauk – Keng Tung (B)
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a 45-minute road transfer to Lahu, where your trekking tour for the day will begin. The hike goes through a mix of green fields and lush tropical vegetation. Explore the villages of the Enn and Akha tribes, some Christian and others still animists. The entire hiking trip usually lasts about 4 hours. Return to Keng Tung in the evening and overnight.Breakfast included
Day 04: Keng Tung – Yangon (B)
After breakfast, tour the colorful market of Keng Tung, where surrounding tribes gather to do business and exchange information. Later on, transfer to Kyeng Tung airport to take a flight back to Yangon.Breakfast included
