If you’re traveling from Bagan, a scenic 7-hour drive spanning 270 kilometers will lead you to this enchanting destination. Alternatively, a 6-hour drive covering 260 kilometers from Mandalay will transport you to this captivating town. For those seeking a quicker journey, flights to Heho Airport, located 46 kilometers southeast of Kalaw, provide an efficient option. From there, a pleasant 1-hour drive by car will bring you to the heart of Kalaw, ready to embark on your exploration of this remarkable place.

Travel itinerary

  • Kalaw – Ywa Thit – Tar Yaw Village – View Point – Kalaw

    Begin the day with breakfast, followed by a delightful hike to Ywa Thit village (approximately 3 hours). You’ll be treated to stunning views of the mountains and the surrounding natural splendor as you go through the forest and tea farms. Continue on to Tar Yaw village, a delightful and typical rural community. From there, make your way to the mountaintop (approximately 40 minutes) where you can savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant while immersing yourself in the panoramic vistas of Kalaw and its pristine environment.

    Finally, take the cart route back to Kalaw and stroll there for almost 3 hours. After that, you’ll be driven to a motel to spend the night.
