Accessible by car from Bagan through Chauk and Saw Towns, it invites exploration.

    The weather in Chin State exhibits considerable variation throughout the year. The green season, spanning from July to September, showcases lush greenery and a refreshing atmosphere. From October to February, the region experiences winter, characterized by cooler temperatures. During this time, especially in the mountains and towns like Kanpetlet and Mindat, nighttime temperatures may drop to around zero degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures remain mild at around 5°C.

Travel itinerary

  • Day 01: Bagan – Kanpetlet

    Embark on a thrilling adventure as you kick-start your journey from Bagan at 07:00 AM. The first stop is the vibrant and colorful market in Chauk Town, where you’ll immerse yourselves in the local atmosphere. Next, cross the majestic Ayeyarwaddy River, heading towards the picturesque village of Kazuma. Nestled between the stunning Chin highlands and the enchanting lowland Myanmar, Kazuma offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. Continuing the drive as you pass through the thriving village of Saw, known for its flourishing agriculture thanks to the constant flow of Saw and Yaw creeks. As the evening sets in, you’ll arrive at the captivating town of Kanpetlet to spend the night and indulge in its serene ambiance.

  • Day 02: Kanpetlet – Mt. Victoria – Mindat (B)

    After breakfast, set off to a 10-mile drive to the halfway point up the magnificent Mt. Victoria. This will be the closest you can get to this majestic mountain, the third highest peak in Myanmar. From Kanpetlet, begin your trek, covering a distance of 24 km to reach the summit of Mount Victoria, standing tall at 3109 meters. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the remarkable Natmataung National Park, boasting a sprawling area of 722 km² and housing an array of rare flora and fauna. The road conditions are in good condition, allowing vehicles to transport you closer to the second base. This reduces the distance you need to climb on foot to approximately 8 km, which can be completed in approximately two and a half hours. At the peak, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. After descending to the car park, proceed to the charming town of Mindat to spend the night and relish the tranquil surroundings.

  • Day 03: Mindat – Hakha (B)

    Fuel up with a breakfast at the resort before starting the day’s adventure towards Hakha, the capital and largest city of Chin State. This leg of the journey spans across 438 kilometers, taking you through picturesque mountainous regions and serene valleys.Mesmerized by the untouched beauty of the landscape as you traverse these ancient valleys. After an eventful day, retire to a cozy local guest house in Hakha, allowing you to rejuvenate and immerse yourselves in the local culture.

  • Day 04: Hakha – Falam – Tedim (B)

    Following breakfast, take a drive to Tedim, a town with a rich historical past, serving as the former capital city of Chin State. This route will take you through the captivating town of Falam, nestled amidst breathtaking mountain ranges and offering a spectacular setting. As you journey through this picturesque landscape, remnants of British influence will greet you at every turn. Upon reaching Tedim,  settle into a comfortable local guest house and unwind, ready for the next day’s adventure.

    After a delightful breakfast, drive to the majestic Mt. Kennedy, where an exhilarating trek awaits. Within just an hour, you will reach the peak of Mt. Kennedy, also known as Thaumium in the dialect of the Totem Tribe. From the summit, be rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views that will leave you breathless. The journey continues to the enchanting Rih Lake, accessible by crossing the Man Sau Bridge on the Manipur River and passing through charming local villages. Spend the night at a cozy guest house near the captivating Rih Lake, surrounded by tranquility.

  • Day 6: Rih Lake – Kalay Myo – Yangon Department (B)

    Savor breakfast and continue the next phase of your journey. Drive to Kalay Myo and catch a flight back to the bustling city of Yangon. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, ensuring a swift and comfortable return. Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer to the hotel for a well-deserved overnight stay.
